Specialized care for residents with dementias
Restmor offers a fabulous memory support unit with skilled nursing care. It is called Evergreen Village and provides three-wings of secure memory care for residents with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. This is the home of 42 residents in 27 rooms on three wings with access to a dedicated courtyard with lovely flower and garden planter boxes.
Unlike most facilities in central Illinois, Restmor’s Evergreen Village is an activity-based memory care unit meeting the needs of residents in all stages of the disease process. The typical approach in the industry is that memory care facilities transition residents out of memory care when they are late stage and deemed not appropriate for activities.

All memory care rooms have private bathrooms with roll-in showers. One wing of Evergreen Village has its own dining and living rooms. The other two wings have a combined dining and living space. In addition, Evergreen Village has its own bathing spa.

Our large addition to Evergreen Village features shock absorbent flooring using
SmartCells® technology that “offers a safe, stable flooring surface that won’t impair balance but that also reduces the impact of a fall by up to 90%. This effectively reduces fall-related injuries by up to 40%, keeping residents safe, confident, and independent,” as stated by the manufacturer.

Partial-Private
This innovate room arrangement provides each resident their own separate bedroom with a shared in-room bathroom with roll-in shower.

Memory care activities
For residents with dementia, establishing a routine is critical. In Evergreen Village, there is always something going on to offer the resident or an upcoming activity they can anticipate. Restmor's memory care unit includes a large, beautifully appointed common area that accommodates group activities, opens to the lovely courtyard and provide panoramic views of the central Illinois countryside through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Circle activities include exercise, finish the phrase/trivia, kickball/balloon ball, etc. We also have a music therapist come in twice each week, “Music with Courtney” which residents thoroughly enjoy.
The island table in the kitchen area provides a nice place for small group or individual activities, such as towel folding, decoration projects for the halls, group games, coloring, card sorting, and more.
Residents just wanting to relax can catch some sun in the courtyard or settle into one of the numerous recliners and enjoy a video or take a nap.
