That’s a statement we hear repeatedly, from our residents, from families with loved ones here, from the state regulators, and from our staff. What makes them say that?
Medicare measures all nursing homes on a one to five-star rating scale. The overall rating is based on a nursing home's performance on three sources: health inspections, staffing, and quality measures. Restmor has consistently ranked among the best in the industry, with a five-star rating.
You’ll notice it as soon as you walk in the door: no offensive odors. We take pride in keeping our residents and the facility clean and dedicate sufficient staff to make it happen. Our 5-star home is not just surface clean; it’s deep clean.
Restmor has a warm, God-honoring atmosphere and our staff endeavors to show the love of Christ to all who make their home here. You’ll notice it in the little things, like spontaneous displays of affection, staff going the extra mile to cater to the preferences of residents, and the compassionate support given to families during a loved ones’ final days.
In addition, the longevity of our key caregivers (thanks to our low turnover) enables building of relationships, and the accumulation of knowledge and experience which leads to better care.
Admittedly, no one wants to move to a long-term care facility, but once settled in, most residents flourish here, thanks to our purposeful engagement with them which stimulates and supports them spiritually, socially, mentally and physically. We believe in adding life to years and it shows.
Man does not live by bread alone. Spiritual sustenance is especially needed during the sunset years as people endure failing bodies, faltering minds and possible discouragement and loneliness. The gospel offers hope, encouragement and salvation. That’s why as a Christian nursing home Restmor provides Bible studies, church services, communion, hymn sings, devotions and individual spiritual counseling for those who desire it. Religion is never pushed on anyone, but those who desire spiritual support will find an abundance of it here.
Although our staff goes above and beyond to care for our residents, volunteers are like the icing on the cake. Being a church supported mission, we are able to tap into a network of hundreds of intrinsically motivated volunteers who provide an extra level of support, activities and care that few other nursing homes can offer.
Our beautiful home is the finest in the area, featuring mission style architecture, rich woodwork, lush courtyards, private and semi-private rooms, an abundance of natural light and lovely furnishings.
Wise stewardship combined with the generous financial contributions from our supporting churches enable Restmor to invest more in staffing, services and facilities than the typical long-term care facility. We are more concerned with providing the best care through the number and quality of caregivers, than having the lowest possible labor costs. And we can, thanks to our financial strength.
Restmor has been serving the aged in Morton and surrounding communities since 1961. When the Morton Apostolic Christian Church purchased Restmor from the church members who founded the home, it broadened and fortified its foundation. The additional support of the Tremont Apostolic Christian Church further strengthened it. Unlike for-profit homes that frequently change hands or small non-profit homes whose supporting churches wither away, Restmor is a mission of two local, and enduring churches, meaning your loved ones will enjoy the peace and solidity of consistent ownership.
